In four days I will be on a plane flying to the Readers Studio. I love flying … hate airports. “In the day” flying was fun, and you were treated well. Now you run the gauntlet to (hopefully) get a seat on the plane that you reserved well in advance. You know they won’t feed you, but that is not a big thing. The food was never that good anyway. However, the service was pleasant, which is really is not now.
We won’t even discuss whether my bag goes in baggage or on the plane with me. I am 5″2″, and pack an admittedly heavy bag. I am too short to get the darn thing in the over-head bin, and, if I were by some miracle able to do so, I would most assuredly bonk someone on the head trying to get it down! I do not ever expect my fellow passengers to do that for me, and the stewards/stewardesses no longer feel that it is in their job description. (I would love to actually see that job description!). So, I will pay for my bag to go in baggage. What kind of stupidity is that, anyway!
I have writing to do, cloths to wash, iron and pack, a bio to finish for a friend, some Social Oomph Tweets to set up, an article to finish … well, most of you are going through the same thing, so you know where I am coming from.
I look forward to seeing old friends, and meeting new friends. I look forward to the vendors, the breakfast seminars, the presentations, the Saturday luncheon with my Gaian Tarot friends, the Saturday night banquet, an maybe just being away from the Internet for a few days. (Heresy, I know!)
Bring it on!
